1) Spinning on the ball of the supporting foot extends the kick’s range, but balance is harder to maintain. Some people prefer to spin on the knee of the supporting leg because it’s easier to balance, but this reduces the kicking range to about the length of the thigh. This variation is also quite rough on the knee because a fast drop onto the knee can cause serious injury.
